Northern Ireland – Pittsburgh Sustainable Leadership Program
Graduate Engineers and other professionals from Northern Ireland colleges and universities spend one year in Pittsburgh area companies and other organizations developing or deploying sustainable technologies around energy, manufacturing, and other sectors. Participating graduates also avail of a series of sustainable leadership lectures and other activities organized by the Ireland Institute of Pittsburgh. The Institute will provide additional support services as needed.
Pittsburgh area companies interested in hosting an intern may view resumes provided by the Ireland Institute. While companies are not obliged to offer placement to any candidate, all offers made are expected to be full time temporary, averaging 40 hours per week for one year, and should include a minimum ten-dollar per hour wage.
This pilot program begins in 2010. It is envisioned for 2011 and beyond that an exchange program will emerge and Pittsburgh area graduates will be eligible for similar internship opportunities in Ireland.
